Welcome to the Department of Visual Communication

The department ‘with utmost creativity seeks to create young & energetic students to shape them according to industry requirements. The department provides wonderful ambience for learning and state-of-the-art facilities like Green Matte Studio, Multimedia lab, Drawing Studio, Sound Recording room, Edit suite and 85 – seater 4K Preview theatre built with Qube technology. The department provides specialised media projects for internships, viz., Sun TV, Vijay TV, Dinamalar Press, Colors TV etc.

To provide hands on experience and first hand learning, the department organises Industrial Visits viz., Dinamalar Press, Makkal Kural Press, kalinger TV, Dr.Aruns Photo Camera Museum to help the students to understand the industry in real time. Media Talent shows are organised at Inter-Colligate level to make the students to learn the Event Management. Students’ talents are showcased as Exhibitions in reputed art galleries in-order to create talent and boost confidence in Art and photography subjects. The exhibition display is for sale to encourage students. Popular Media professionals, Actors from the cinema industry and print Media are invited for Guest Lectures to help the students to interact live. Workshops and Group Discussions with Film Industry experts are organised for students. The department also provide opportunities for students to work on internship in various fields of Print, Electronic, and Media. Students are guided by expert faculty for doing their specialised projects. The department alumni are now working as media professionals and experts in advertising, graphic design, animation, cinematography and film making. The program helps the learner to acquire knowledge about designing, computer graphics, web publishing, television production, animation and direction which helps him to understand the domain of mass media.

The learner develops the necessary skills and ability to understand the effective visual communication theories and models which focuses on structuring the thinking process to communicate ideas with clients, target audience and other specialist. The learner also become technically competent in the areas of Screenplay, Art direction, Cinematography and Editing course.
