The Student Council
The Student Council

The office bearers of the student council are as follows: President, Vice-president, Treasurer, General Secretary, Cultural and Sports secretaries and PG representatives. They are elected by indirect election by class representatives in the beginning of the year. The class representatives are elected by their respective classes in the beginning of the academic year. Together, they form the student council.

Objectives of the Student Council:
  • To uphold, work for and implement the ideals of the college in a befitting manner by organizing programmes which have the prior sanction of the Principal/Director.
  • To foster and promote cordial relationship between the students and the teaching staff
  • To promote healthy and responsible participation in extracurricular activities
  • To encourage constructive discussion of student affairs with a view to the general welfare and well-being of the student body

Those entrusted with the responsibility of an office in the college should endeavour to prove themselves worthy of their task. They should always remember that, in a great measure, the spirit of the student body depends on their leadership. Therefore, they should be an example of loyalty, devotion to serve their fellow students subject to policy of the college. They should work closely to the college authorities proving helpful and co-operative as true patricians. The class representatives are responsible for maintaining order and discipline in the class.

The college looks up to the senior students to uphold the standards and traditions of Patrician College of Arts and Science and serve as a constant example to their juniors.

Leo Club

It conducts activities continuously to meet the newer demands and requirements. The mission and motto of the club is we serve. It provides immediate and sustained relief in times of disaster.

Rotaract Club

It brings young adults together to take action in communities, develop their leadership and professional skills. It is non-religious, non-political and non-profit organization. Students who wish to join the Rotaract club should register their names in the beginning of the academic year.

Youth Red Cross Society (YRC)

YRC was initiated for the purpose of providing service during times of emergency like war, floods and other natural calamities. The major objective of YRC is to make students service-minded. It amis at the promotion of Health and hygiene among public.

Consumer Club

It works on the motivational zeal of consumer groups to create awareness among students at a very young age and through them awareness is created among the general public. It also creates awareness about consumer products and services and how to use it with an ethical and environmental conscience. Motto of this club is Aware, Alert and Act.

Fine Arts Club

It is a unique and creative initiative. Patrician college of Arts and Science encourages the students to develop interest in the field of Art and Design. It attempts of provide creative space for the students by promoting music, art theatre and dance activities in the campus. The club is in-charge of conducting cultural in the college.

Enviro Club

It functions to create environmental awareness among the students and a sense of civil responsibility to preserve the environment.

It takes efforts in inculcating reading habits among students. One of the promotional activities is forming of the Reading club. All first year students are the members of the Reading club. Every semester top 10 reviewers are selected and rewarded during library week.

AICUF – All India Catholic University Federation is a movement of university students with a vision for a new and just society. It is the students’ movement which spreads awareness on social issues. AICUF cultivates leadership qualities. AICUF encourages religious harmony and equality among the students. AICUF fights for the rights of the poor, Dalits, tribal and women.

The college constantly encourages students to participate in sports competitions as it has realized the importance of the physical activities. Every year, interdepartmental sports meet is held in a grand manner. Also, physical directors train students and encourage them to participate in intercollegiate events. The college has excellent facilities for cricket, tennis, basketball, football and other indoor games. The sports ground, a popular practising ground with national players, is of an international standard.

NSS – National Service Scheme

It is a government of India sponsored public service programme. It is launched in all colleges to serve the humanity and the nation. Not Me But You is the motto of the NSS which reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service.
