Greetings from the Professionals at the Department of Management!
It gives us great pleasure to extend a heartfelt welcome to one and all who wish to be a part of the activities of the Department of Management, Patrician College of Arts and Science. The Department places great value on academic excellence and boasts of being the pioneer department in the history of the college to produce 100% pass in the first graduating batch of 2001-04. We also prioritise on building lateral thinking skills for creativity and innovation in performance which creates the right mix for the outgoing graduates of the Department.
As we believe in the efficacy of practical learning, we move beyond the confines of the traditional textbook and expose the students to real time solution building experiences, encouraging participative decision making and management. The students are presented with different tasks and activities, encapsulating problem situations to enhance their troubleshooting and problem solving skills. The syllabic group project component in the final year trains the students to get accustomed to the corporate world as they take up research in applicative practical settings to assess the risky nature of business with the added immunity of the academic clause. The department also encourages the students to work as a team to achieve common goals, instilling team spirit and leadership attributes. Leaders and good team players emerge naturally from these self made teams in the pursuit of project completion.<
The Department aims at holistic pedagogy, stimulating the practical acumen supported by the theories of Management. While promoting entrepreneurship we churn out responsible entrepreneurs who can contribute to the national wealth through their business ventures. A large number of our alumni have launched their own successful business units for self advancement and service to society. Apart from this, to foster the humanitarian quotient of the students, the philosophy Service before Self is mandatorily instructed to the students through participation in various extension activities, before they pass out from the portals of the Department. This results in a notable alumni connect who give back to their alma mater as resource persons, trainers, counsellors or even job providers to the present students. We hope to continue the trend in the department, especially with technology and digitilisation as the current environment for business.
As Head of the Department, it is my joy to say that team work is the core value of the department. The faculty provides the students with a supportive team environment to guide and lead them in their pursuit of excellence.
If you are a student, willing to pursue your higher studies and a career par excellence or a parent / guardian who wants their ward to travel this journey, enrol with the Department’s UG Programme – Bachelor of Business Administration or PG Programme – Master of Arts in Human Resource Management .
Take a single step forward in beginning the journey of a thousand miles!
