Greetings from the Department of Commerce!

It is my privilege to welcome you all to the PG and Research Department of Commerce shift I, Patrician College of Arts and Science. Being a part of Patrician is truly a pride, as our institution has crossed many milestones, the latest being the reaccreditation of the college with the esteemed ‘A+ grade’ by NAAC in 2021. In keeping with the motto of the College, The Department of Commerce at Patrician seeks out the best in its students through its effective pedagogy, strives toward continuous learning in all its students through value added programmes and finds its wealth in its graduates / alumni through a dynamic alumni interface.

The department hand holds the students through their academic journey with avenues for enhancement of their knowledge, skills and abilities ultimately transforming their lives. The focus of the department is toward academic progression of its stakeholders with a view toward improving research acumen and activity at all graduation levels.

We take pride in our well qualified and experienced faculty who customize the prescribed curriculum through their innovative techniques to provide a facilitative teaching learning environment toward the empowerment of the student community. The Department takes solid efforts to constantly motivate the students to achieve their ambitions and break free beyond the boundaries of their circumstance to embody excellence in their present and future avenues for career.

With God’s help, as I head this department, I will vouch to ensure the conducive teaching learning atmosphere that prevails and bring enhancements to the same through increased opportunities for students to pursue their goals and erstwhile suspended dreams. The program helps the learner to have a comprehensive knowledge regarding Accounts, Finance, Marketing, Taxation and Business Laws which makes the student a trained professional for various industries and corporate sector.

The learner develops the necessary skills and attributes to enable them to work in various positions like accountant, Financial Analyst, Sales Executives, Stock Agents etc. The program also gives an opportunity for post-graduation which helps them to upgrade themselves as a professional in this course.

The program helps the learner to become well trained professional in the field of Insurance, Banking, Marketing and in the Investment Sector.

The learner develops the necessary skills and attributes to enable them to work in various positions like accounts manager, Financial Expert, Area Sales Manager, Stock Agents etc. The program also helps the students to enter into the field of School education as teacher and also the learners prepares for the NET/ SET /JRF for entering into the post of Assistant Professor in HEI or extend himself into the field of Research.

The student is provided with Research knowledge in the field of Commerce

The learner develops necessary skills to communicate with the society at large regarding commerce and its impact on everyday life , create, select, learn and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern methodologies that suit the present scenario requirements of trade and commerce and demonstrate a critical awareness of current issues in commerce through leading edged project and practice in the field.
